Ready, willing and Abell

Congratulations to Stephen Abell who, it was announced this morning, is to succeed Tim Toulmin as Director of the Press Complaints Commission. Abell, selected from a shortlist of four candidates, is currently the PCC's Deputy Director. He has been at the PCC for eight years, having joined them straight from university. With a review of the PCC already under way, a recent flurry of high profile cases in progress and as many questions as ever about the Commission's role and effectiveness, Abell will know he has his work cut out.
