Two more PhonepayPlus adjudications
We have another couple of adjudications this week from PhonepayPlus.
The first is for a subscription service providing gaming tips and cheats. People complained that they were getting unsolicited messages, and the 'STOP' message wasn't working. A fine of £80,000 was imposed against the information provider, Cylon Corporation, USA. This appears to be Cylon's first sanction.
PhonepayPlus also imposed a fine of £175,000 against a network operator, Plaza Telecom Ltd, for allowing six non-compliant service providers to operate on its network. The PhonepayPlus website does not enable you to search through its adjudications database by network operator, so I can't confirm whether or not this is the first sanction for Plaza.
